MediaTek announces the Helio G85 with a 1GHz GPU and HyperEngine improving user Experience

Today, MediaTek announced the Helio G85, its latest gaming chipset. It sits underneath the G90 series that was announced back in July. The G85 combines an ARM Mali-G52 GPU clocked at 1GHz and new HyperEngine improvements for ultimate gaming performance.
HyperEngine promises things like dynamic management between the CPU, GPU, and the RAM based on power and thermals. And of course, there's smoother performance in heavy game engines, or complex scenes. For the CPU, it comes with two 2GHz Cortex-A75 cores and six 1.8GHz Cortex-A55 cores.

"MediaTek is expanding our Helio G family to give device makers more options in designing smartphones that deliver an elite gaming experience," said Dr. Yenchi Lee, Assistant General Manager of MediaTek’s wireless business unit. "The Helio G85 delivers a combination of impressive performance, minimal power consumption and a range of other gaming enhancements so users can enjoy fast and smooth gameplay."
Of course, gaming improvements aren't the only features of the chipset. The G85 promises a better AI camera for object recognition, scene detection, and so on. Devices can have camera arrays with sensors up to 48MP, and video recording can go up to 240fps. It also has inertial navigation, so it can detect an accurate location even when you don't have a signal.
MediaTek didn't say when devices will launch with the new chipset, but it will likely be later this year.
